Crossing the Bar

William E. Taylor (Skoch) (83)

Mr. Taylor, 83, passed away on 27 May 2014 in Phoenix, Arizona. He was an
early graduate of UDT training in August 1950 and served in Teams 1, 3, 12 .


Harvey Hiber, Comander passed away on June 23, 2014. He was a retired judge in San Diego,

but moved to Denver, Co. in 2001.

John Spence,(95), passed on 29 October, 2013. He is rumored to be the first “Frogman”- pre UDT.  As a courtesy this is the account of his life.   See:  

Donald L. Zyski (84), crossed over the bar on 06 November 2013. He was a member of training class 6 in Coronado and served as a member of Team 1 (11).  He had a very active and productive life after discharge in 1955. He was well liked by all who knew him.

Alfred Darnell Mitchell (87), crossed the bar in July, 2013. He was 87

In Vol. 16 No. 1 (Feb. 2010) it was reported that Jack B. Tomlinson had crossed
the bar. He informs us that he is still with us. Sorry for the misinformation. Mr.
Tomlison is the creator of the Freddie The Frog logo that we all love.
